Dear Students/Parents/Guardians,
This week we are doing a special social studies project called Junior Achievement. In 4th grade we study our region (Arizona) and the different types of resources (natural, human, and capital). Students, you can discuss what you learn with your parents! I am sure they would be very excited to hear about what you learned in Junior Achievement this week. On Friday we will be going to the computer lab to study the state in which we want to open our own business in.A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to Monica Zugaste, our Junior Achievement volunteer!
Library Field Trips
We didn’t have a chance to visit the library last week because of behavior issues. However, we will be returning to the library next Monday, November 15, 2010 to check out books for an upcoming book report. If you still do not have a library card or a permission slip, and you want one, please see me! I have extra copies. Also parents, if you would like to volunteer to come with us, please feel free! The only requirement is to have your fingerprints on file with the front office.

Classroom Supplies
We greatly appreciate any supplies you want to bring into our class. Some of the things we use the most are:
Tissues and Paper Towels
Paper or Plastic cups
Baby Wipes and Hand Sanitizer
*We can also use any old games or books you are looking to donate.
Liberty Canned Food Drive
Do you have non-perishable food that is in your cabinet that you will never use? We know people who could use it! Show Liberty what “Above and Beyond” means by bringing in food for those in need. November 8 through November 18th we will be collecting non-perishable food and donating it this holiday season. The class who brings in the most food will win a pizza party! Come on 4th grade! Let’s show Liberty how much we care.
This week's Assignments
This week in Reading we are combining math and reading by using comprehension books related to math and answering questions about what we read. In science, we are discussing the scientific method and talking about cells. In social studies we are finishing our Mammal Expert’s Journals. We are multiplying and dividing facts through 10 in math. PLEASE STUDY YOUR MULTIPLICATION FACTS EVERY NIGHT! In writing we are beginning our own stories using the writing process. Please read 20 minutes every night and have your planner signed by a parent or guardian.
